We use iTero for all orthodontic cases including Invisalign®, impressions, and procedures when we need an image of your teeth. The iTero can also help us diagnose orthodontic problems we might not know about.
K7
We treat lots of patients who suffer from TMJ and it wouldn’t be possible without help from K7. K7 is an advanced dental technology that measures the lower mandibular jaw function and status of chewing muscles. It also gives us data in regards to the measurement of the existing jaw trajectory, muscles that control the jaw, neck, and head, and the current status of the jaw joint disc. This information helps us properly diagnose TMJ and create an effective treatment plan.
TENS
One of the top concerns of our patients visiting us for TMJ is how soon they will find relief from their TMJ symptoms. With the TENS unit, it can immediately relax the jaw muscles and help them release lactic acid so we can find your optimal resting jaw position and you can find immediate relief. In addition to using TENS to help with our diagnosis and treatment plan, we can incorporate the use of it throughout your TMJ treatment for pain relief.
3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT)
A type of x-ray equipment we use is the CT Bone Beam which allows us to take 3D images of the patient’s soft tissues, teeth, bone, and nerve pathways in one single scan. The information we gather from one of these scans can help us plan treatments such as dental implants or extractions.
BIOLASE Waterlase
The BIOLASE Waterlase laser combines water, laser energy, and air to perform procedures on your mouth tissue. Since the tissue in our mouths has high water content, including teeth, the laser technology stimulates the water in the tissue to provide a virtually painless procedure since it doesn’t cause vibrations and heat like traditional dental drills. The Waterlase laser is also quiet which makes it perfect for patients who suffer from dental anxiety. With its high precision, we’re also able to make the most precise cuts and remove minimal tooth structure during procedures. Patients can expect a better procedure experience with the Waterlase laser.
DNA Saliva Test
Another dental technology we offer that can help your oral health in the future is DNA Saliva Testing. The DNA Saliva Test can tell us if you’re at a higher risk for developing gum disease and whether or not you have a certain periopatheogenic bacteria in your mouth. This information can help us create a more effective preventive dentistry plan to improve your oral health and prevent problems down the line.
STA “The Wand”
Another dental technology we’ve invested in primarily for the comfort of our patients is STA “The Wand.” The Wand makes local anesthesia shots nearly painless and much less intimidating than before. Instead of using a large syringe, The Wand resembles a small pen and discreetly delivers computer-controlled anesthesia to a single tooth. Not only does the appearance of The Wand help patients with dental anxiety but it makes the entire experience far less painful. It also only focuses on one tooth at a time which means you don’t have to leave our office with the entire side of your face feeling numb.
