Since the pandemic began, we’ve begun to see a surge of patients from New York City at our Miami Beach dental office. We thought it might be fun to share with our patients that both Dr. Mantovani and Dr. Escoto attended NYU School of Dentistry. They often reminisce of their years living in the Big Apple and love meeting new patients who lived there at some point in their lives too.
If you’re new to our dental practice, why not spend some time getting to know our two dentists and the services we can offer you? We look forward to meeting with you in person!
NYU College of Dentistry
The New York University College of Dentistry is the third oldest as well as the largest dental school in the U.S. The college has educated nearly 10% of dentists in the entire country! The college is known for its large, growing research programs, diverse and inclusive environment, and a wide range of specialty training. The NYU College of Dentistry also dedicates lots of time and resources to providing dental health services to underserved areas in New York City with free oral health screenings and critically needed dental services. Drs. Escoto and Dr. Mantovani enjoyed living in New York and expanding their knowledge of dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry.
Get to Know Dr. Maria Escoto
Our Miami Beach cosmetic dentist has a lot more to offer than just an NYU education. Dr. Maria Escoto is part of an elite group of South Florida female doctors who specialize in neuromuscular dentistry. She began her dentistry career in 1995 working as an associate at a Miami Beach general dentistry practice before teaming up with Dr. Alberto Martovani in 2002 to open their dental practice, SoBe Dentist!
Dr. Escoto first graduated from dental school in her home country, the Dominican Republic before attending New York University’s College of Dentistry. Following graduation, she had the honor of working at one of the oldest public hospitals in the US working with geriatric patients at Bellevue Hospital College in New York City.
To continue to excel at dentistry, Dr. Escoto went on to attend the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Studies (LVI). During her time there, she completed the curriculum for neuromuscular dentistry. In addition to her extensive training in neuromuscular dentistry, she is also amongst the 5% of dentists trained in cosmetic dentistry in the U.S.
When she’s not transforming the lives of her patients at SoBe Dentist, Dr. Escoto enjoys continuing her education and donating her services to restore the smiles of underprivileged patients. She’s fluent in both English and Spanish and belongs to a number of dental associations.
Get to Know Dr. Alberto Mantovani
Like Dr. Escoto, Dr. Mantovani is also an NYU College of Dentistry alumni. During his time at NYU, he participated in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Honors Program. Following graduation, he completed an externship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and then internships at Mount Sinai Medical Hospital in New York City Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Beth Israel New York City, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center Washington D.C.
Upon completion of numerous internships, Dr. Mantovani packed up and moved to Miami Beach where he worked at three different dental practices performing dental implant surgery before joining forces with Dr. Escoto to open SoBe Dentist.
Dr. Mantovani also attended the prestigious Las Vegas Institute For Advanced Dental Studies where he completed courses in mastering neuromuscular occlusions, practical occlusion for the progressive practice, and advanced anterior aesthetics. He also later completed a course on live mini-implants surgery from Sterngold Dental.
Dr. Mantovani belongs to a number of dental associations and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian.
We Love New York Transplants!
The one positive aspect of the pandemic is that it’s brought lots of new faces to Miami Beach. At SoBe Dentist, we’re used to seeing a diverse range of patients. In the past year, we’ve noticed an uptick of New Yorkers who left the Big Apple in search of a warm beach (we can’t blame you there). Since Drs. Escoto and Mantovani used to live in New York, they know how important high-quality dental care is to our New York transplant patients.
If you’re searching for a new dentist in Miami Beach, know that everyone is welcome at our dental office. We offer a wide range of treatments to help every patient achieve optimal dental health and smile aesthetics. We offer everything from preventive dentistry to cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, family dentistry, TMJ treatment, sleep apnea, and more.
