We are thrilled to introduce you to one of our beloved patients, John.
John came to see Dr. Maria Escoto and Dr. Alberto Mantovani after having been in the office numerous times for twice-yearly exams and teeth cleanings. His bite had completely collapsed, producing painful symptoms that were interfering with his quality of life. In order to help John and put an end to the headaches, muscle spasms, and the discomfort he was feeling in his head, neck and face region, we had to perform a full mouth rehabilitation.
Additionally, John was hearing clicking and popping noises in his jaw at the Temporomandibular Joints (TMJ) was having difficulty opening and closing his mouth with ease. These are all very common symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint dysfunction.
John’s TMJ Treatment Plan
Gneuromuscular Dentistry (GNM) was recommended to correct John’s problems, but first, we had to find out where, exactly, the problems were located within his TMJ/jaw area. Luckily, our amazing GNM K7 computer program was able to track the movement and position of the mandible in three planes simultaneously, thereby identifying the source of trouble.
Special surface sensors assessed the position of the entire masticatory musculature relative to John’s correct bite (occlusion), both while resting and while active. Using another type of innovative TMJ technology, we were able hear the clicking, crepitation, and other noises that occurred while John’s was opening and closing the mouth.

Over several weeks, John underwent full mouth reconstruction, which allowed our TMJ dentist in Miami Beach, FL, to establish a physiologically sound bite and fully reconstruct his upper and lower rows of teeth. With his bite in its optimal position, John was freed of the painful symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ/TMD).
The dentists at SoBeDentist™ were thrilled to relieve John’s suffering and correct his painful misaligned bite: “Happy facial muscles, happy bite, happy patient. It’s that simple,” one of our dentists commented.
